Hal Leonard John Mayer Continuum Piano, Vocal, Guitar Songbook Review

Hal Leonard John Mayer Continuum Piano, Vocal, Guitar Songbook
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book is perfect for advanced pianists. The music is written for the piano damn near exactly how it's played on Mayer's guitar. The only thing I was sad about was I'm Gonna Find Another You did not have the voice melody worked into the song.....it was just the background music of the actual song. Guess I'll have to start singing along while I play. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this piano book. :o)

Jasmine by Takamine S35 Acoustic Guitar, Natural Review

Jasmine by Takamine S35 Acoustic Guitar, Natural
Average Reviews:

This is my third guitar. They have all been entry level instruments, and it seems as fast as I buy them I give them to my children. This one I will keep. This is by far the best guitar of the previous two, and thinking back the least expensive. I cannot believe how well-made this instrument is, with close attention to detail. There were no short-cuts taken when assembling this guitar, those small details that usually distinguish entry level instuments. I would recommend this guitar to anyone.

Studiologic Numa Piano Review

Studiologic Numa Piano
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been a professional gigging musician for many years and the Numa Piano is exactly what I've been looking for. The action is outstanding, the internal sounds are all excellent. Unlike even some 'very high end' keyboards that I've owned, the Grand Piano sounds great by itself AND in the mix. Creating splits & layers on the fly is so simple that it's almost not even necessary to store setups in memory. Even controlling external modules with it is a breeze. If you're looking for a lightweight piano with a great action and a handfull of meat-and-potatoes sounds (Piano/Electric Piano/Clav/Strings/Organ) at a price that won't break the bank. Check it out!

The Best Gospel Songs Ever - Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook

Great book. There are a variety of songs, from Amazing Grace to Turn Your Radio On. It's helpful that the music has chords and a separate melody line in addition to the harmony lines. For a book that has so many songs in it, it stays open reasonably well, while it's being played out of. Love it!

My Piano Review

My Piano
Average Reviews:

I had very high hopes for this software. My almost 7 year old daughter is very excited about learning to play piano. But I guess she doesn't watch enough cartoons because she and I both find the talking piano character a little ridiculous. But that's not the problem. The problem is that the volume for the narration cannot be adjusted separately from the midi keyboard output through the computer speakers. Our keyboard does not have internal amplification. (MIDI only) so there is no option to adjust keyboard output. This makes the software all but unusable for us. We had high hopes but it looks like we'll have to look for another solution.

Casio PX200 Privia Digital Piano with Hammer Action Review

Casio PX200 Privia Digital Piano with Hammer Action
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a semi-pro jazz pianist. I own an old Balwin baby grand and a top end Roland rd700sx keyboard. I bought the Casio as a practice keyboard at my summer home. I couldn't be more pleased with it. The action is very heavy (a good quality) - heavier that either of my other pianos, but not as much as your average Steinway grand. But the action is also very responsive and quite a pleasure to play. The primary piano sound is balanced and nice to listen to (the others not so).
The tone is no where as beautiful or as expressive (wide dynamic range) as my Roland, but the Roland cost 4 times as much!.
It is very useful for practicing and the built-in speakers are loud enough to play in a party setting. I've used it for gigs with a stereo amp and it's very adequate - and weighs 27 lbs. I've seen it selling for less at other online musical instrument sites so check around.
All in all a very nice keyboard and well worth the cost.

Alfred d'Auberge Piano Course: Lesson Book 3 Review

Alfred d'Auberge Piano Course: Lesson Book 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We had the first and second book in this series. My daughter in 5th grade used the first book to learn keyboard--no prior music lessons. My son - 7th grade went right to the second book and did well (he had two years of lessons in a different instrument). We continued with the series because we liked the layout of the lesson plan. The series is very easy to use for even a young child if you start with book one.

Hal Leonard Casting Crowns Until The Whole World Hears arranged for piano, vocal, and guitar (P/V/G) Review

Hal Leonard Casting Crowns Until The Whole World Hears arranged for piano, vocal, and guitar (P/V/G)
Average Reviews:

As an avid lover of anything Casting Crowns do, this was a great treat for me. I don't play either piano or guitar very well so I mainly use it for the lyrics. Totally soul inspiring from front cover to end. I love the whole CD and this sheet music for it is great. I gave it to my church so anyone can use it if they would like. Anytime I can hear these songs sung as they were meant to be I am happy. This book of sheet music covers every song from this CD. If you like the CD and you want the music, this is what you want.

Casio CTK720 Music Keyboard Review

Casio CTK720 Music Keyboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this Casio portable keyboard to replace a Yamaha instrument that had apparently gotten fried inside from having used the wrong AC power adapter. Not to mention that my very old Casio MT240 has either mysteriously disappeared from my house, or, more likely, has been stashed away so well that I can't find it. After searching for the missing keyboard for several weeks without any luck, I decided that I needed to buy another keyboard, since it bothered me that I had no portable instrument to take to picnics, nursing homes, Christmas gatherings, and otherwise perform on the go.
The Casio CTK720 is a very basic keyboard, primarily designed for a beginner. However, there are plenty of features to satisfy the intermediate player and the keyboard hobbyist, such as myself. It has 61 full-size keys; 32-note polyphony; auto-accompaniment, in which the player may play a chord with one finger, or use the "fingered" mode, where one must hold down all the keys in a chord in order to get any sound from the left-hand side of the keyboard.
There are many styles and voices from which to choose when playing this instrument. Plus, there is a three-step teaching system to aid the beginner keyboardist. To add to the fun, there is a microphone jack so one can sing along while playing or listening to the built-in songs on this keyboard. In total, there are 100 songs in this instrument, divided into two banks: a piano bank, with traditional piano songs; and a song bank, with fully orchestrated songs. There is a jack to accommodate an AC power adapter. It would probably be wise to purchase the Casio AD5R Adapter and only use 6 AA batteries when playing this instrument outdoors or in a place where there may not be an available electrical outlet. I've been able to use my original Casio AD5 Adapter, which had been used with my MT240 and other small Casio instruments that I had bought, sold, traded, or just plain given away, through the years.
The Casio CTK720 has an earphone jack for private playing, and a jack to accommodate a sustain pedal, if a person should choose to use one. In my opinion, a sustain pedal definitely improves the sound when playing a portable keyboard. The playing isn't so choppy.
One of the things that appealed to me about this keyboard is that there are dedicated sliding switches to adjust the volume levels for the master, microphone, and auto-accompaniment volumes. This is reminiscent of the older Casio instruments. There is also a USB port to connect the CTK720 to a PC to download styles and other files from the Casio Web site. I haven't really done anything with that.
This keyboard does not have touch sensitivity. The piano and other voices are adequate enough, but they certainly don't compete with the more expensive instruments that I own. However, it beats my cheesy late-eighties Casio hands down, pardon the pun. If you want to improve the sound, hook the CTK720 to a small keyboard amp. I have a Crate KX15. The amplifier's 3-band equalizer and the 15 watts of power, compared to the 4 watts in this Casio, will make a big difference.
If you seriously want to study music, this is not the keyboard to buy. I bought it for pure fun, portability and ease of use; and also because it was a clearance item from another online store. I was able to get free shipping because I also purchased a gig bag in order to transport this instrument. The keyboard was only $79.00 and the gig bag was $29.99. A great price for a piano in a bag, wouldn't you say?
In summary, I wouldn't pay more than $100.00 for this keyboard. There are a lot of rhythms that I wouldn't even use. Though there are many voices, the organs and synths are pretty weak. The overall sound quality is certainly listenable, but nothing to write home about. It is simply a good basic keyboard for the budgetk-conscious person. A fun piano one can put in a bag.

American Tapestry Piano Collection Softcover Review

American Tapestry Piano Collection Softcover
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this songbook after previously encountering Joseph Martin through his "Christmas Tapestry" arrangements. These arrangements are beautiful, and often remind me of a blend of Aaron Copeland's "Appalachian Spring" and Debussy. The harmonies are wonderful, and all of the arrangements and the few original compositions are very interesting. The music, when heard, sounds much more difficult than it actually is to play, although your fingers can get quite a workout on a couple of the songs! Martin often likes to put in sections that sound like a harp, and I find these the most difficult to play correctly, but they are definitely worth the effort. There is not a single arrangement that I would not hesitate to play for friends, in church or elsewhere in public, because they are so uplifting and sonorous.

Casio CTK-573 61-Note Touch Sensitive Keyboard with Adapter and Song Books Review

Casio CTK-573 61-Note Touch Sensitive Keyboard with Adapter and Song Books
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this keyboard for about six years. I grew up playing my parent's piano and I wanted something to play on until I got a piano of my own. For the price, this was PERFECT...once I added the sustain pedal. It will allow you to play many notes at once (polyphonics) and you can record 2 songs in the memory banks. It does have Midi ability to hook up the the computer but I have never tried that function out. The keys are touch sensitive, piano mode is realistic sounding and in perfect tune so that I can play along with YouTube songs, such as the Beatles Live performances. It has some fun sound effect options as well. I LOVE this keyboard and it has gotten me by quite nicely without having the real thing.

I'm a small female and I appreciate the fact that this case is light weight. With the additonal shoulder strap (which isn't shown in the photo)it makes it easy for me to carry. The only negative I have found is that the exterior pockets are not large enough for the music stand making it necessary to carry it separately or place inside with the keyboard. (Mine resulted in scratches.) Otherwise a great quality product.
