(More customer reviews)I agree with the reviews that discuss the feel and the sound, truly remarkable for such an entry level piano, you could not possibly be disappointed. For $449 up here in Canada it included the stand and the three pedals and a fairly substantial four legged padded stool. The total package is very sturdy if you put it together properly. I have no idea where the $800+ price tag mentioned on this site comes from. I give it five stars and thank Costco for marketing it at a fantastic price, amazing value. Not a toy, not polished ebony, but a really inexpensive entry level digital piano that sounds and feels very impressive. Yes it's a Casio folks, get over it, accept the fact that they have just moved the bar to a new level.

(More customer reviews)My son who turned 2 the first of January has been attending a day care center where there is a Casio electric keyboard there. The provider has allowed him to play with the keyboard. Sometimes he plays on the keyboard for 45 minutes to an hour trying to sing, so when I saw that my first thouught was maybe he likes music so why not cultivate it. I purchased a Yamaha 235 for him for Christmasd and this stand with foot pedel. I was surprised of how sturdy it is and the fact that that he can climb up on the stool and play, he pushes all the buttons to change the music and trys to sing. Now everyday when I get home I encourage him to play and we have singalongs, we dont even turn on that stupid TV. I'm LOVING IT. Buy the way no one in the house knows how to play let long sing but we're learning with Gods help.

Alesis Fusion 8HD 88-Note Keyboard Workstation Review

(More customer reviews)I personally like the keyboard action a lot though it may be light for some people...its not as spongy-light as a Korg Karma but its not as heavily weighted as a Kurzweil SP76. Velocity, release velocity and mono aftertouch are standard.
Some people have been asking how I like the Fusion's Piano and, more specifically, how it stacks up against the Korg and Yamaha offerings...
Well, It kind of depends on what you like personally.
Let me explain; the Piano on my Motif Rack was a brittle piece of crap to my ears. The piano on the Fusion is a lot more realistic. Personal taste varies on piano sounds quite a bit though - I've got an old Baldwin Acrosonic Spinet in the studio that I love!
I needed at least one "workstation" type keybord with realistic instrument sounds like piano, clav and strings in my studio. I started with a Korg Karma but its sounds were overhyped plus it had the absolute worst keyboard I have ever felt. Later I traded it out for a Yamaha Motif rack - besides its too-bright sound it had awful MIDI timing slop...I sold it to help fund the Fusion.
Through my ADAM monitors, the Fusion has a nicely flat, unhyped sound. In my opinion, the Fusion's patches sit in a mix a little nicer than Korg and Yamaha - I didn't have to compress and EQ them to get them to "play nice".
I'm playing the Fusion along with a Serge Modular, Nord Modular, Yamaha VL-1, E-mu Planet Earth, Waldorf MicrowaveXT and a DSI Polyevolver Keyboard and I tell you, the Fusion can certainly hold its own, even with a disparate bunch of "weird guys". LOL! It really has a unique voice of its own thats different enough to be a very welcome addition :)
The unique sound engines in the Fusion are just a blast to program and I love their sound...that's where I think it really shines, though Its obviously no slouch as a sampler either - now I can finally trash my old S2000.
It seems fairly solid. I'm not planning on gigging with it - if I was, I would certainly buy a decent case, but I would do that for any synth I planned on transporting ;) I haven't had any lockups or software crashes yet...I've been digging pretty hard and deep into the beast since I got it and it seems very reliable so far. This is a much more mature OS version though...If you're looking into a Fusion, make sure the most recent OS is loaded - some of the earlier ones were very buggy.

Yamaha S70XS Synthesizer, 76-Note Balanced Hammer-Weighted Action Review

(More customer reviews)The s70xs and the s90xs are the same internally so what I write here applies to both.
I own this keyboard (s70xs). The much vaunted s6 piano sound suffers from awful harmonics on the C#1, D1 and D#1 keys. My previous keyboard (EX7) sounded fine through my Roland KC350 keyboard amp. The harmonics on these keys when played through the same amp sound terrible, totally unusable in a live situation in my opinion. Through headphones it sounds 'OK', not great but more bearable.
The piano sounds also sound dull and muffled in my (and many others) opinion.
It also drops notes like crazy when played reasonably fast, even with a single voice like a piano selected. It also drops drum hits as well if you have a drum track playing in the same situation. I don't think this is a polyphony issue, it simply does not work as it should (others have reported the same issue). Again, this makes is unusable in a live situation. It's not so great just playing at home either!
Small screen size is not that much of an issue but they way some information is not displayed when it would make sense to do so makes some aspects of using it more time consuming than it needs to be but otherwise it is usable.
Manuals are typical Yamaha which means pretty terrible as far as actually trying to use them to do anything 'real' but I suspect that issue is not limited to this keyboard, my EX7 manuals are just as bad.
Cannot use a modified voice in a performance without saving it first. Makes it harder to just 'try out' different settings in a mix.
Other than that the keyboard is great so it's a shame that the above issues with the harmonics and dropped notes make what should be a great keyboard into something that should be avoided.
My recommendation. Do not buy this keyboard.

Yamaha CP50 Stage Piano Review

(More customer reviews)The previous reviewer obviously is into instant gratification, and can't be bothered with RTFM or such other unpleasant things. My previous keyboard was a Yamaha DGX-620 and there is no comparison. The piano sound and the keyboard are simply worlds better. My non-technical wife immediately noticed the difference. I consider the money as very well spent. I did the firmware update from version 1.11 to 1.20 today and it was completely painless. Sounds even better now. The only thing I miss is a way to display the chords being played. As for the weight, many other stage pianos are much heavier. The weight is because this stage piano is not a toy and built to last.

Yamaha P95B 88 Key Portable Piano Bundle Review

(More customer reviews)I just got this in the mail and set it up, the piano sounds great but this is not the correct stand and I'm really upset. I wish I would have known that before buying the bundle set, I would have bought a different set with the correct stand. Normally it wouldn't matter but the piano pretty much slides off the stand and is crooked. This piano needs the correct stand.
