Yamaha PSR-E323 61-Key Entry-Level Portable Keyboard Review

(More customer reviews)Don't let the fact that this machine is an "entry-level keyboard" hinder you from purchasing it. It can be played and enjoyed by beginners and advanced players alike.
As stated in my previous reviews, I have owned many Yamaha and Casio keyboards in the past 25 years or so. This is the best portable I've owned yet and I can't wait to take it out on a gig in late August.
The piano sounds very much like the higher-end digital pianos for which Yamaha is known. Many of the voices and features on this board are ones found in my Yamaha DGX-500. The only minor complaint I have is that the volume level could have been increased a little. But one can compensate by using an amplifier or speaker if necessary.
I was quite impressed with the wonderfully orchestrated built-in songs. One can listen to them for pure enjoyment or learn to play them using the lessons built into the instrument. Personally, I don't use the lesson feature, but it's there for those who want it.
In summary, if you want an affordable, lightweight keyboard to tote around, this is definitely the one to buy. The sound quality is very good for a keyboard in this price range. You won't feel as if you're playing a toy when you perform, and there are really neat intros and endings to enhance your performances. They are the same ones found on the better Yamaha instruments. This is not always true with the Casio instruments.
Another thing, when I purchased this keyboard from Musician's Friend, since Amazon.com didn't have it as yet, I had to buy the adapter separately. This shouldn't be. There weren't even any batteries with it. How is one to play it after getting it out of the box? It would stand to reason that there should be at least one type of power supply included in the box. Fortunately, I knew enough to read the full description and bought the adapter along with the instrument and got them both delivered on the same day, thank goodness.
Buy this great keyboard. I know you'll be very happy with it.

Yamaha FC3 Dual Zone Piano Style Sustain Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)This pedal is really worth the price. I can't imagine not having it. I use it with a Yamaha P70 digital keyboard. I grew up playing a normal piano, and was skeptical about how this would work. The control is very precise. It is indespensible for anyone who is used to using a pedal. At first I thought it was a little high of the ground, but I got used to it.

Williams Symphony Console Digital Piano Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Williams Symphany Console Digital Piano for my own playing as well as for teaching. I wanted something economical that had the look and feel of a real piano. While the instrument was fine for teaching beginning to intermediate students, I found it was a horrible choice for my own playing. I had to press some of the keys very hard to get a sound out and then it was very loud, so it was impossible to achieve the delicate balance necessary for some of the classical pieces I was trying to play. I don't know what "4-level touch sensitivity" means, but it doesn't even come close to a real piano. Finally, after owning the instrument only 3-4 years, some of the keys are permanently stuck in the depressed position, so now I cannot play it at all! I am so sorry I bought this instrument. What a complete and utter waste of money!

(More customer reviews)First, I'll say we were pleased with the look, size, sturdiness of the piano itself (though the stool is prone to turning over, but our 2 year old daughter isn't that rowdy, so it's not a big problem). Thus the 2 stars. My daughter really likes it and I hate that we have to return it...BUT...the keys are WRONG. I didn't mind that it sounds "pinging" (it's a toy) or even that a few notes were terribly flat/"off" on tone. Then I realized WHY...the keys go: "CDEFGAB-CDE-CDEFGABC"!!! Yes, the black keys are 2-3-2-2-3. If you know music, you know this is absolutely unacceptable. I understand you can't get 3 full octaves on there, but at least keep the keys in the correct order, please!! Sadly, we noticed this on Christmas Day, after my daughter was actually playing with it. If the company can guarantee me one with keys set up correctly, I will simply exchange it. But we cannot in good conscience keep it as it is, even if it is just a "toy"---I want my daughter not to be confused by a keyboard with (basically) TWO middle "C"'s!! [After all, it's not "Do-re-me-DO-RE-MI"!! What happened to "Fa-so-la-ti"??]

(More customer reviews)If you enjoy the music fom Pride & Prejudice you will love this piano book!!! If you, a friend, a family, etc. is not advanced in piano playing I would advise you to wait on getting this book, but if not... go for it! The songs are:
1. "Dawn" with occasional sharps, naturals, and flats.
2. "Stars and Butterflies" with mostly sharps
3. "The Living Sculputures of Pemberly" with two flats
4. "Meryton Hall" one sharp
5. "Georgiana" three sharps
6. "Arrival at Netherfield" occasional sharps and naturals
7. "Liz on top of the World" two flats
8. "Leaving Netherfield" two flats
9. "Another Dance" two flats
10. "The Secret Life of Daydreams" two flats
11. "Darcy's Letter" three flats

Overall, this book is positively miraculous in everyway! I hope you will enjoy if you get it! Thank you.

Casio WK-200 76-Key Digital Keyboard with Stand and Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I had shown my girlfriend a simple electric piano I was thinking of getting. For Xmas she got me the Casio WK-200. It has a great touch, and sounds great plugged directly into the PA mixer. I'm still learning (after decades of just being a flute player, plus a very little bit of sax), and I'm glad the default setting is grand piano. This beautiful beast can make more sounds than I'll ever even need to learn to use. It will be nice to have them available, though, further down the road. - EZ
