(More customer reviews)First, I'll say we were pleased with the look, size, sturdiness of the piano itself (though the stool is prone to turning over, but our 2 year old daughter isn't that rowdy, so it's not a big problem). Thus the 2 stars. My daughter really likes it and I hate that we have to return it...BUT...the keys are WRONG. I didn't mind that it sounds "pinging" (it's a toy) or even that a few notes were terribly flat/"off" on tone. Then I realized WHY...the keys go: "CDEFGAB-CDE-CDEFGABC"!!! Yes, the black keys are 2-3-2-2-3. If you know music, you know this is absolutely unacceptable. I understand you can't get 3 full octaves on there, but at least keep the keys in the correct order, please!! Sadly, we noticed this on Christmas Day, after my daughter was actually playing with it. If the company can guarantee me one with keys set up correctly, I will simply exchange it. But we cannot in good conscience keep it as it is, even if it is just a "toy"---I want my daughter not to be confused by a keyboard with (basically) TWO middle "C"'s!! [After all, it's not "Do-re-me-DO-RE-MI"!! What happened to "Fa-so-la-ti"??]

(More customer reviews)I was not a happy camper when I opened up the box and saw this product. There are no instructions included in putting this together... i am a single mother and i am NOT that great with assembly (lol). The keys shift back and forth and the "label" for the keys is way too long for the keyboard itself. However, i did not throw the box out of the window like i originally wanted.
I did have someone come over and put this together for me. No, the sound is not as "perfect" as they describe it. It's more chimey than anything. But for the price and shipping, you get what you pay for. My daughter doesn't know the difference and she absolutely loves it. If you want a better sound, i'd suggest going with a more expensive model, but for my 12 month old, this is perfect. It's just a toy!

Schoenhut 49 Key Pro Baby Grand Piano - Black Review

(More customer reviews)Who in the world would spend $1,900 or more on this? Let's be honest about this.
First of all, this is a toy piano. It has four measly octaves of keys. My Yamaha digital grand pianos each have 88 keys. At market value, they went for less than this. Even combined, they went for less than this.
When I started piano lessons at age 5, I had a brown 88-key Sohmer upright. We acquired it for naught. I'm glad I started on a real piano, rather than one like this.
If you want your child to get to know the piano realistically, take my advice. Don't buy this. You're better off with a Yamaha or at best a Steinway.
Who cares if it sounds like a real piano and has pedals. My digital keyboards have pedals, and the voice of a nine-foot concert grand that is not only much bigger than this, but has market value of $110,000.

(More customer reviews)This is a great first piano for your little one. The sound isn't Piano quality but it's great to learn simple songs. My daughter has had it a month and has learned to play mary had a little lamb.
Grant she can't play it on a real piano because the cheat notes are not on the keys but she's only 2 1/2.
It's a really cute toy piano! I would buy it again. Well made and looks great.

Schoenhut Fancy Baby Grand Piano Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my 6 year old granddaughter for Xmas who was frustrated trying to play 'music' with the kazoo-like thing she was given to use at school. My son was doubtful she would like it due to her bad experience to date with music. Within a few minutes after setting it up, she was playing Silent Night and other songs in the book that came with the piano. The key chart system provided allowed almost instant reward for her efforts to play recognizable tunes. My 8 year old granddaughter also enjoys playing it when she can get the little one away from it. This system is a great introduction into playing the piano, and, because key spacing is regular size, what it learned with it can be carried over to a keyboard or regular piano. I couldn't be happier, and my granddaughter is enjoying making music.
