(More customer reviews)I like my StudioLogic SL-990XP MIDI Controller, which I've had for over a year. I've had Korg and M-Audio MIDI controllers, and they both just had spring-action keys, which isn't the same as a piano keyboard. The 990XP keyboard is much closer to the feel of a real piano. However, its action is a little heavier than two upright pianos I've played a little on. But to get something close to a real piano keyboard for under $400 is a great bargain! Of course, being only a MIDI controller, it needs to be connected to a computer running a sequencer program that can play music using the the MIDI information from the controller by using either Windows built-in synthesizer sounds, sound-card synthesized sounds, or synthesized sounds from recorded instruments (SoundFont or VST samples) that are available on the Internet. I use a simple and free MIDI sequencer program named PianoRollComposer.
